What we do — and why we do it this way

We are a dedicated on-site first aid training provider. That single focus shapes everything about how we operate: our courses are delivered at your workplace, by experienced instructors who bring all the equipment with them, on dates that suit your schedule. Your team does not spend half a day travelling to a training centre — they stay in their own building, learn in a familiar environment, and are back at their desks or on the floor as soon as the session ends.

The on-site model is not just convenient. It genuinely produces better results. When learners practice CPR compressions in the same room where they spend every working day, scenarios feel real rather than hypothetical. They remember where the first aid kit is, they can picture the exits, and the practical skills they build are anchored to a setting they actually recognise. That is the difference between training that fades within a week and training that holds when it matters.

Our course range covers everything a UK employer is likely to need: from the one-day Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) qualification through to the three-day First Aid at Work (FAW) programme, Paediatric First Aid (Level 3) for early years settings, Workplace Mental Health First Aid, sports first aid, fire marshal training, manual handling, and more. Every course is delivered at a transparent, fixed price for up to 12 participants — no per-head charges, no surprise extras on the invoice.

Our accreditations explained

Accreditation matters because it is the mechanism by which your certificates become legally meaningful. Here is exactly what we hold and what it means for your business:

  • First Aid Industry Body (FAIB) — all of our standard workplace first aid courses (EFAW, FAW, FAW Requalification, Annual Refresher, AED, CPR, BLS, Sports First Aid) are accredited through FAIB. The HSE explicitly accepts FAIB-accredited qualifications as satisfying the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981. FAIB conducts regular quality assurance checks on its approved providers and their instructors.
  • Qualsafe Awards (Ofqual-regulated) — our Paediatric First Aid Level 3 and Workplace Mental Health First Aid qualifications are awarded by Qualsafe Awards, a regulated awarding organisation on the Ofqual register. These are RQF Level 3 Awards and carry the same regulatory status as qualifications from any other Ofqual-regulated body. The Paediatric First Aid certificate maps to EYFS Annex A and satisfies the DfE's statutory requirements for early years settings.
  • Certificates of Attendance — CPR, AED/Defibrillator, and Basic Life Support (BLS) courses provide a Certificate of Attendance issued by First Aid Training On Site on completion.

All workplace first aid certificates are valid for three years from the date of issue, in line with the HSE's position on certificate currency. We recommend an annual refresher to keep practical skills sharp — particularly CPR technique, which research shows degrades without regular practice — though this is not a legal requirement.

How it works

From enquiry to certified — what to expect

Booking on-site training is straightforward. Here is the process from first contact to certificates in your hand.

1

Tell us what you need

Contact us by phone on 0800 852 7739 or via the online quote form. Let us know which course, roughly how many people, your location and your preferred dates. If you are unsure which course is right — EFAW or FAW, for instance — we will ask a few quick questions and advise you based on your workplace's risk level and the HSE's needs-assessment guidance.

2

Receive your fixed-price quote

We send a clear, itemised quote by email — usually within one working day. The price is fixed for up to 12 learners. There are no per-head additions and any travel costs (where applicable) are declared upfront, not added to the final invoice. You are under no obligation to proceed.

3

We arrive fully equipped

On the agreed day your instructor arrives at your premises with everything needed: manikins, AED training units, course materials and assessment paperwork. You provide a suitable room — a cleared meeting room, canteen or training space with enough floor area for the group to work in. That is genuinely all we ask of you.

4

Hands-on training and same-day certification

The course runs with a strong emphasis on practical skills. Learners spend the majority of their time doing — practising CPR on manikins, working through casualty scenarios, using AED trainers — with clear instruction and immediate feedback throughout. Assessment is continuous and supportive. Certificates are issued on successful completion, so your team leaves the room fully qualified.

Our instructors

Every instructor we deploy is qualified to deliver accredited first aid training and has hands-on experience in practical emergency care. We look for people who are technically excellent and genuinely engaging in front of a group — because the quality of your team's learning depends on both.

Our instructors adapt their delivery to the people in the room. A session for warehouse operatives runs differently from one for school staff or office workers. Before starting, your instructor will take a few minutes to understand your workplace, your team's experience level, and any specific scenarios or hazards you want covered. That context shapes the examples and role-plays used throughout the day.

We operate at company level across the UK, so wherever you are based, we can match you with an experienced local instructor rather than someone travelling from the other end of the country.

Why on-site training works better than the alternatives

Compared with open/public courses

Open courses — where your staff join a group of strangers at a third-party venue — have their place for individuals. But for a team of four or more, on-site training is almost always more cost-effective and less disruptive. Our fixed day rate covers up to 12 learners, so the per-head cost falls as your group grows. You also avoid the productivity loss of staff spending half a day in transit and the scheduling headaches of finding spaces on someone else's calendar.

On-site also means we can tailor scenarios to your actual environment. If you work in a warehouse, we can practice a casualty scenario near racking and refer to your specific kit locations. If you run a nursery, the paediatric scenarios reflect real childminding situations. That relevance is simply not possible in a generic training centre.

Compared with online-only provision

Online learning works well for theory and awareness. It does not work for a workplace first-aider certificate. The Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981 require adequate provision, which for trained first aiders means practical, hands-on competence — something an online video cannot assess. Our blended course options use e-learning for theory preparation, reducing the time your team spends in the training room, but practical skills are always assessed face-to-face. Insurers and Ofsted take the same position.

Compared with large national providers

A certificate from an FAIB-accredited provider carries the same legal weight as one from any large national training organisation. The HSE has not directly endorsed any training provider since October 2013, and its guidance makes clear that brand name does not determine compliance. What you gain by booking with us is transparent pricing, faster availability, and training that can be scheduled around your business — without paying a premium for someone else's marketing budget.

FAQs

Common questions about our training

Are your first aid certificates accepted by the HSE and Ofsted?

Yes. Our standard workplace courses are accredited by the First Aid Industry Body (FAIB), whose qualifications are accepted by the HSE for satisfying the Health and Safety (First-Aid) Regulations 1981. Our Paediatric First Aid (Level 3) and Workplace Mental Health First Aid qualifications are awarded by Qualsafe Awards, an Ofqual-regulated awarding organisation accepted by Ofsted and the DfE for EYFS purposes. All certificates are valid for three years from the date of issue.

How many people can attend one first aid training session?

The regulated maximum for EFAW and FAW courses is 12 learners per instructor. Our fixed course price covers up to 12 people, so the per-head cost falls the more colleagues you include. If your team is larger, we simply run additional sessions — we will advise you on the most efficient way to schedule them and whether running concurrent sessions makes sense for your site.

What do we need to provide on the day?

Very little. You need a private room large enough for the group to move around comfortably — a cleared meeting room, canteen or training space all work well. Each participant needs a chair and access to a writing surface. You will also need toilet facilities nearby, reasonable ventilation, and parking or unloading space for our instructor. We bring all training equipment, manikins, AED trainers and course materials. Nothing else is needed from you.

Is a large national provider's certificate more legally valid than yours?

No. Since October 2013 the HSE has not directly approved or accredited any first aid training provider — it accepts all recognised systems equally. A certificate from an FAIB-accredited provider or an Ofqual-regulated awarding organisation carries exactly the same compliance weight as one from any large national brand. HSE's own guidance (GEIS3) places responsibility on the employer to satisfy themselves that their chosen provider is competent — not to choose a specific brand name. Our accreditations meet that test.
